KnitRiot is a collective of Los Angeles crafters who share both the love of working with wool and a concern about current issues affecting our community.
Thank you so much for doing this at my daughters school. As a fellow knitter, yarn bomber and artist. I was truly touched to tears. You peacefully tapped into one of our families passions. Thank you so much for your generosity, thoughtfulness and passion. Thank you, thank you!!
On Behalf of the Aldama PTA: THANK YOU! The glorious yarn tree outside of our school is stunning -- a real treat for us as we dropped of our kids this morning. Many parents were standing around the tree, admiring it and fingering the beautiful yarnwork. I am so grateful that you selected Aldama for your yarnbomb! As a PTA, we have worked hard to promote arts in the schools (including hosting a giant Community Art Fair last February) and your work goes far in demonstrating how art can be both very public and political. This installation brought tears to my eyes, and, as another parent wrote in the e-buzz about it this morning, "completely made my day as I dropped my daughter at school!." Yay KnitRiot!
